For those of you who don't watch it, last night's new episode of South Park was a must see for everyone, and ended with a cliffhanger.

The storyline is that everyone in town went nuts and had to take shelter to protect them from terrorists because Family Guy was going to show a cartoon of the prophet Mohammed on one of its episodes. FOX censored it, but revealed that next week is the second part and the Family Guy people have demanded it be shown, so they're not going to censor it.

That's the cliffhanger and it lead to a voiceover where Matt or Trey asked if "Comedy Central woudl pussy out".

So, what do you think will happen?

Now before anyone gets all high and mighty talking about how South park is putting lives in danger, you should try watching the episode (I'll try an find a copy online to link here). there is a great speech in the middle about believing in the freedom of speech as opposed to defending the freedom of speech. that occurs right before the town's people try to bury their heads in the sand to avoid seeing the cartoon and thus become a target for terrorists.

I expect that once someone in the media figures out the South Park just said "We're going to show a cartoon Muhammed" this story is going to generate big time publicity for the show. (Although, it's already in the top 10 rated shows on cable and has been since it came out.)

I really don't know how to vote... it could go either way. They killed the Tom Cruise is Gay episode... before they unkilled it.

Maybe terrorists will bomb Comedy Central HQ this week?

I don't think he will be shown. Not because I think they are going to be afraid to because they have already shown him before but because it seems just to straight forward and there has to be some sort of joke or funny reason as to why they wouldn't.

On a side note they really went after Family Guy.

The last big cliffhanger I remember on South Park was the "Cartman's Dad" issue. The followup episode was a 1/2-hour T&P special fartacular.

I have no idea where they might go with this one.

Nah. You can tell because there was no farting.

That's about when I quit watching, too, but I just started up again with the anti-Scientology episode. It's actually pretty good again ... so far.

I tried, but my Tivo apparently decided I didn't really want to start watching again.

Yeah it is from that episode.

I loved the all terrence and phillip episode just because it pissed off so many people when they didn't end up telling you who cartmans dad was.

I also like them because so many of the people who don't like south park is because they think the show is what terrence and phillip is.

That'd be interesting as hell. Matt & Trey would put something like that in if they could, but the Comedy Central name is at least still attached or associated w\ the show. & if the network is forking out any cash to finance DVD production, distribution, or advertising, they may get bitchy.

Any bets on how long it'll be before that blacked out portion is leaked to the internet?

They had me fooled with the T&P opening.
