For those of you who don't watch it, last night's new episode of South Park was a must see for everyone, and ended with a cliffhanger.
The storyline is that everyone in town went nuts and had to take shelter to protect them from terrorists because Family Guy was going to show a cartoon of the prophet Mohammed on one of its episodes. FOX censored it, but revealed that next week is the second part and the Family Guy people have demanded it be shown, so they're not going to censor it.
That's the cliffhanger and it lead to a voiceover where Matt or Trey asked if "Comedy Central woudl pussy out".
So, what do you think will happen?
Now before anyone gets all high and mighty talking about how South park is putting lives in danger, you should try watching the episode (I'll try an find a copy online to link here). there is a great speech in the middle about believing in the freedom of speech as opposed to defending the freedom of speech. that occurs right before the town's people try to bury their heads in the sand to avoid seeing the cartoon and thus become a target for terrorists.
I expect that once someone in the media figures out the South Park just said "We're going to show a cartoon Muhammed" this story is going to generate big time publicity for the show. (Although, it's already in the top 10 rated shows on cable and has been since it came out.)
