This was Johnny's second film (the first being the $320K costing, $55M grossing Halloween). Same co-writer & producer as Halloween, most of the same crew, a lot of the same cast (Jamie Lee Curtis, Nancy Loomis), & he ever got an aging Janet Leigh for a small role as well as Hal "I'm fucking Mark Twain, bitches!" Holbrook as an alcoholic priest.

Anyhow, dense fog rolls in to some backwoods California town during the 100th anniversary of its founding. Then people start dying & everyone figures out they're cursed.

Visuals o' plenty are used while smartly keeping the low-budget villains off camera for the vast majority of the film. Carpenter brings in his trademark piano & synth soundtrak punching out augmented chords every few seconds.

Bit of a cult film, well-done suspense, & an old ghost story gets a new coat of paint. Worth a rental.
