1990 flick I liked back in the day. I saw the DVD on sale last year, picked it up, and just got around to watching it.

Stars Liam Neeson as a scientist wronged by the guy who played the retarded guy (Bennie?) in L.A. Law. As I recall, this was Bennie's first big role since LA Law... and he plays such an evil bastard it was shocking to see.

Co-written by Sam Raimi, and you can see some of Sam's signature camera tricks.

I had remembered how it ended... Darkman slipping on a disguise and hiding in a crowd... but I laughed outloud when I saw whose face he put on. I had forgotten all about that.

As "superhero" movies go, I think this one holds up. Worth viewing if you've never seen it... I think I bought it for $7 at Target (along with Time Bandits for the same price...).

Anyone know if Darkman was a comic book?

About the only thing I remember is the face he put on at the end.

I remember renting that because of Raimi. I wasn't all that impressed with it though.

I mainly like watching Sam's work just to play the "Where's Ted & Bruce?" game. :)

I liked Darkman. It wasn't incredible, but it was entertaining.

It's somewhat refreshing to see Liam Neeson in a non-stick-up-his-ass role.

Take the fucking elephant!

I think a comic came later.

Watched it with my kid last night, who is on a Sam Raimi kick.

I never caught before that the villain was clearly homosexual. They even made subtle jokes about it.

I just thought he was neat, articulate, urbane, and hanging out with the younger guy because he was stylish.
