6.5 Are wars possible between corporations?
Most definitely. One of the main purposes of corporations is to allow formal wars to be fought over resources, trade routes, strategic systems or simple pride. Players belonging to a warring corporation may attack the opposition without impunity or loss of security status.
In order to keep things interesting and retain a bit of realism, declarations of war do not require a mutual agreement, just as in the real world. The declaration of war is sent from one CEO to another and the fight begins.
Isn't that interesting.

Yup, i've heard this actually reduces the max size of Carebear corps.
When one gets to big, a bunch of opportunistic PvP corps will declare war, and blow up their ships for the loot and easy kills.

I've often said that we don't want to talk TOO much smack while we're out and about. Don't need some big pvp corp declaring on us.

So my saying "TKV will own you" in local each time I system jump is a bad idea?

By "we" cake meant "me"...
I promise, I don't do it on purpose, nor that often!

Couldn't they just dissolve the corp & reform under a different name later or something? If it's a big enough non-PvP guild that's getting targeted by a PvP one, then the non-PvP guild can do some quick risk analysis & figure the cost of keeping a real guild is more expensive than the cost of just keeping a fairly loose confederation of players. I mean, hell, do you really need to be in a corp to mine & run trade routes together?

Yep!
Everything you said is exactly what happens in game...

The other thing is that large industrial coprs will often join large alliances for protection and proximity to resources and shit.

Dumb.
Sorry, but where's the reality in that?
So if one empire declares war on another for no reason the Spacelane corp is going to send troops to help out? THAT would equal reality.
If there is going to be an ever present protector to guard against random PKing, then that same protector would be guarding against all forms of random violence.
Now if someone could declare war on Spacelane or Concord...

People have argued that too, Leisher. They say that the 1.x million cost per month to war is basically paying Concord to look away during fights. Some people contend that BOTH parties should be paying Concord to look away saying that it's a domestic dispute and butt out. However, in reality, payoffs generally only come from one party.
But again, based on the fact that there are fees to warring, one has to assume that Concord is corrupt and accepts pay offs from the bad guys to do their bad things.
Now if someone could declare war on Spacelane or Concord...
They would lose. hehe They'd have an endless supply of ships/equipment. And if the idea of wearing them down and eating their resources was implimented, then that could be cool I guess. The .5 areas would shrink and stuff. However, since evil is ALWAYS more organized or more motivated than the good/nonPVP guys in these games, it would only be a matter of time before there was NO >.5 space anywhere.

Of course, player could always form a NATO with an "attack on one is an attack on all" mentallity.
Though, that didn't help denmark when their embassies got torched, but you know.
