For a $19 fee, Ashley Madison users are told they can completely erase their profiles, a feature that can come in handy when covering up activity on dating services for extramarital affairs. However, the hackers claimed that the “full delete” feature doesn’t work in reality.
A group or individual known as The Impact Team claimed to be behind the attack and that it had data on all of Ashley Madison's 37 million users and its partner sites, Cougar Life and Established Men, all owned by Canada's Avid Life Media (ALM).
The data showed Ireland ranks tenth in a list of 45 countries that have members. Canada (6.7 per cent), the United States (5.2 per cent) and Australia (5.1 per cent) have the most members per capita, but Ireland is ranked as having the highest number in Europe with the exception of Switzerland (3.9 per cent) and Spain (2.7 per cent).
I have a feeling that they mean 5.2% of the site's profiles are from the U.S.A..TheCatt wrote:Wait... 5% of the United States is on this website?!?

So that was the same thing I thought... until I did some math, and read the article.Alhazad wrote:I have a feeling that they mean 5.2% of the site's profiles are from the U.S.A..TheCatt wrote:Wait... 5% of the United States is on this website?!?

A hacked website for married people who want to have an affair has in the region of 115,000 Irish members, according to figures published by the company.
4.595 million (2013)

However, a graphic called “the global infidelity map”, published on the website’s Twitter account a fortnight ago, outlined its per capita membership in countries around the world. It indicated that 2.5 per cent of the Irish population were members, which equates to approximately 115,000 individuals.
...has a worldwide membership of almost 38m.
Some 189,810 Ashley Madison users were registered in Ottawa, a city with a population of about 883,000. Those numbers make the capital the website’s No. 1 Canadian hub — and potentially the highest per capita globally.

Supposedly. We'll see.
I'm torrenting it now.
