Ashley Madison allegedly hacked.
For a $19 fee, Ashley Madison users are told they can completely erase their profiles, a feature that can come in handy when covering up activity on dating services for extramarital affairs. However, the hackers claimed that the “full delete” feature doesn’t work in reality.

But remember ... marriage is sacred. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

More sites.
A group or individual known as The Impact Team claimed to be behind the attack and that it had data on all of Ashley Madison's 37 million users and its partner sites, Cougar Life and Established Men, all owned by Canada's Avid Life Media (ALM).

Wait... 5% of the United States is on this website?!?
The data showed Ireland ranks tenth in a list of 45 countries that have members. Canada (6.7 per cent), the United States (5.2 per cent) and Australia (5.1 per cent) have the most members per capita, but Ireland is ranked as having the highest number in Europe with the exception of Switzerland (3.9 per cent) and Spain (2.7 per cent).

I have a feeling that they mean 5.2% of the site's profiles are from the U.S.A..

So that was the same thing I thought... until I did some math, and read the article.
A hacked website for married people who want to have an affair has in the region of 115,000 Irish members, according to figures published by the company.
4.595 million (2013)
Republic of Ireland, Population

115000 / 4595000 = 2.5%

However, a graphic called “the global infidelity map”, published on the website’s Twitter account a fortnight ago, outlined its per capita membership in countries around the world. It indicated that 2.5 per cent of the Irish population were members, which equates to approximately 115,000 individuals.

Although, they may mean 2.5 per cent of adults, not all people, which would lower the absolute # from 115k, but wouldn't change the %age.

But really, 5.2% of US adults are on the site? Seriously? That's insane.

It says "most members per capita." I don't see any mentions of age.
...has a worldwide membership of almost 38m.

Even if that's 5% of their users having a US profile, you're talking 1.9M. Granted that 5% of the total US population would be a better profit line, but any way the numbers get cut, infidelity = jingles.

Divorce lawyers and PIs are having a holiday.
Some 189,810 Ashley Madison users were registered in Ottawa, a city with a population of about 883,000. Those numbers make the capital the website’s No. 1 Canadian hub — and potentially the highest per capita globally.

Dayum.

Not all states recognize infidelity as relevant in a divorce.

Eh, I'm probably too lazy to even do that.

But I did download and unzip the files.
