I thought Marines were part of the Navy. You know, like Army Rangers. Navy Marines.

I mean it's right there in the name that Marines are ... well, marine. Which is Navy business.

No?

Yeah, we are a branch of the Navy, but it is the men's branch.

Army rangers are just army guys with slightly better physical fitness standards than regular army guys. Marines are NOT navy guys.

We steal their medics and let them drive us around on their boats. That's literally it.

No Navy guy was ever in my chain of command, unless it was like the President of the Navy or something that I never cared about.

So you don't join the Navy in order to become a Marine, it sounds like. Not like Army Special Forces at all.

Learn something new every day.

Just yanking your chain. My dad was Navy and he was harassing a Marine coworker of mine that was assisting with moving a gun safe a couple of weeks ago.
