The zoo planned to file child endangerment charges against the boy's parents on Monday, zoo officials said.
A person/private entity can "file child endangerment" charges? I thought that is something law enforcement/CPS had to do. Zoo could charge with trespassing, though, or just bring it all to the attention of CPS.

When the parents are on the zoo's turf, doing shit the zoo specifically says not to do around the animals the zoo takes care of, I bet they have a lot of leeway.
