Like Colorado.
While some stores have said they will sell a gram from $10 to $12 – comparable to prices at unregulated dispensaries in the state – others anticipate selling marijuana at $20 a gram or more because of the low supply and high taxes, which are 25% wholesale and 25% at retail.
The dudes selling at $10-12 will make a killing.

Ok, revised question: if you have never smoked pot, will you try it if it becomes legal and cheap and safe to obtain?
ANd.... how are businesses in the legalized states responding to the new legality? Do you get a THC pass on your piss test?

Biz can do whatever it wants. They can theoretically make alcohol hiring policies, too.

Yeah, I suppose....... I never liked them, but understood the "hey shithead, you broke the law, I can't trust you" angle. But now it seems stupid and arbitrary if they still don't allow it.... if they still allow for the consumption of alcohol.

Stupid and Arbitrary are the watchwords of any good bureaucracy.
EDIT: Personally it won't matter much. I'd probably get some and maybe even smoke it once or twice a year. Which is about how often I drink alcohol. These just aren't my drugs of choice.

I'm guessing you're the only one in that boat around here, but I could be wrong.
At any rate, if it were legal, I'd definitely try it again. I'd want to try out the edibles.

I think Leisher is in the same boat. Probably Cake, too. He is pretty lame and I just can't see it.
I actually DID attempt it once, a long time ago. Was in a low place and didn't give a shit about much.... someone passed to me, they said to hurry because it was almost done, but it was just a nub in a roach and by the time i got it to my lips it was gone.

I think for many companies (like Cleo) it was about liability costs on insurance I think. You have people working with heavy equipment and running forklifts and things, I remember being told they got a break on their insurance because of the piss test. You may have noticed that they never tested anyone ever again after hiring there.

Although, the DC law is just for personal consumption and possession. Nothing about selling, as far as I can tell.

The only state where marijuana didn’t win: Florida. A ballot measure to permit medical marijuana failed there, but only because it needed 60 percent of the vote to pass. “Yes” got 58 percent instead.
