Iggy Azazlea threatened.

This trend isn't going to end well for anyone. These hackers probably think they're morally justified, but the problems is what they're doing is based on their morals. Who says their morals are the correct ones? Morals within a society are ever changing.

How badly is this going to fuck with freedom of speech? How many people will be afraid to speak up about anything in fear of what hackers will do to their lives?

These hackers think they're fighting the good fight, but instead they're one of the biggest weapons for the type of world they don't want to see happen. They are Big Brother.

There's always a dude out there that knows a security hole you don't. That includes those times when you're that dude. Hackers become hackees so easily. That gets a bit Wild West and invites internet regulation. If I were a conspiracy nut, I'd say the feds are behind it ... but it's not been fucked up enough. This is more complex than building a website. Shit, they couldn't even do that, they had to hire contractors.

It might get better.
On July 3, DHS, which plays “key role” in responding to cyber-attacks on the nation, replied to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request on a malware attack on Google called “Operation Aurora.”
Unfortunately, as Threatpost writer Dennis Fisher reports, DHS officials made a grave error in their response. DHSreleased more than 800 pages of documents related not to Operation Aurora but rather the Aurora Project, a 2007 research effort led by Idaho National Laboratory demonstrating how easy it was to hack elements in power and water systems.
Oops.

Ah, the DHS. Of course.

Yes. I was planning to get somedrinking straw filters as well. I live near a decent-sized body of water. I'm insulating and finishing some nooks in my house right now. Could easily store 100 gallons + food with storage room left over.

I have a few water bricks as well. You can get a few of these to fill and keep stacked against the back wall of a closet. We went to a family reunion this past summer where the water is god awful and my entire family was happy I'd brought a couple of bricks of water for the two days we were there.

The DHS obviously isn't funded well enough. They need a few more billion so shit like this doesn't happen again. Maybe splurge $50 for double-checking the uniqueness of a project name. Fucking brilliant. Wastoids.

They aren't Big Brother. Big Brother is so insidious because it has the force of law behind it. These hackers are not state sanctioned.

But they do suck. On the bright side there are other hackers out there that target these sorts of hackers. They'll get taken down.

Xbox/PSN hacker arrested. Also suspected of swatting.
If found guilty of swatting, I recommend he be swatted to death.
