Let’s get something straight, I won’t condone catcalling in any form, to anybody, ever. Got that? I don’t care if it is a friend you know well and it is a joke, I don’t care if everyone else around is doing it, you won’t be a part of that.

In the video capturing her 10-hour walk around the city, she is catcalled more than 100 times...

Wait, so while walking around New York you only met 10 assholes every hour? In NEW YORK? Shit, given the population density 10 assholes an hour is LOW. That's not a video about how all men suck, that's a video about how the number of assholes in New York is diminishing.

Yeah, I agree. Her little anecdote is worthless as "useful information" if she doesn't also say how many men did NOT catcall her over those 10 hours. Her example means less than nothing..... which is what we expect from women, amirite?

True story...

My mom worked in hospitals her entire career. She was heading in to work one morning at the hospital and met up with another lady she worked with in the parking lot and they were walking in together. There was a large construction crew there working on a new wing of the hospital and they were walking past the construction area. A couple of the workers sent cat calls their way. My mom just smiled and kept walking. Her coworker asked her if that didn't make her angry.

My mom told her that among other things her divorce was finalized that week and she had generally been having just a shitty week. That Neanderthal letting loose with the catcall had been a highlight to her otherwise shitty week.

We're becoming the biggest titty babies on the planet. There are a lot of countries where walking down the street with what she's wearing could get her killed. If she can't handle what she was enduring, she's got much bigger problems than catcalls.

Mostly I find these men annoying because they are stupid. Clearly women don't like being bothered like that. Just shut up and enjoy the view, don't ruin it by being an asshole and encouraging them to stop.

I agree with you TPR that they're mostly just being stupid. But people have a right to be stupid as long as they aren't hurting anyone else by doing it. I don't like being bothered by homeless people that want change. I tell them no or ignore them and move on.

Catcalling is rape.

There are two things you can count on from feminist bloggers covering a story of female harassment. First, they too have suffered such indecencies. One columnist wrote that she has suffered nasty comments and catcalling every day of her four years living in New York (solution: Kansas now has the Internet). Second, everything is tantamount to rape in the rape culture where raping rapists rape the living rape out of women with their raping eyes, their raping words, and their raping thoughts.

I saw a video last night of a woman that was walking around New York with her blue jeans actually painted on. Like a G-string and body paint. Looked really good. One guy from blocks and blocks of her walking around ran up while she was at an ATM and snapped a pic w/ his cellphone. No cat calling. No oogling. No one else seemed to even notice. So I'm really starting to wonder if that other one was staged like the Hollywood drunk girl video was.
