At this point I believe KFC. The grandmother probably made this up on her own to get money for her granddaughter's treatment (remember it was grandfather's dog that did the damage, so she may be feeling a bit guilty about that), and the family just believes grandma wouldn't lie.

More hoaxiness.
The CEO of the fund-raising webpage GoFundMe, Brad Damphousse, issued a statement Tuesday suspending the campaign and offering to refund donations.
"In lieu of the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the 'Victoria's Victories' online fundraising effort, GoFundMe has temporarily suspended the campaign until the full truth is made clear," the statement said.

I said this shortly after the story came out. I looked at the pictures of the girls and she just looked pitiful. Nothing scary or gross about her injuries. I just wanted to hug the little girl. Then the video segment from the local newscast, and grandma was just white trash. Then when they said she had a web page set up for donations, I knew something was wrong.
