Dumb-asses get way, way, way too stoned, presumably because they have no idea how chemistry works.
That is nowhere, I repeat, nowhere near lethal. It is literally orders of magnitude away from a chemically fatal dosage of THC. If you aren't used to that much being in your system at once, though, you will do weird shit. Although, the doctors seems to be kind of dim:

The post title comes from the fact that this is exactly what I saw when the seniors I knew in high school went off to college. All the ones that went away and started drinking around 15 or so did not get flunked out of class by the bottle. Lots of ones that had very protected, sheltered lives and experienced booze for the first time went absolutely crazy and did.
