Hell yes. For every overpriced POS textbook I was made to buy during school, FUCK YOU ALL, book publishers.

Wow, a ruling involving copyright that actually makes sense. Go figure.

Anyway, I second the "fuck the textbook industry" campaign. Ordering textbooks is part of my job, and it's galling how badly they screw over our students. We try to minimize it, but ultimately what can you do when literally every source is in on the scam? For most of these classes, there simply are no cheap alternatives. Although admittedly in the majority of cases it is ultimately you that pays for it, because 80%+ of our students are on Pell grants.

Knew a dude that wrote textbooks. From what he said, the publishers weren't making a massive profit off the things. Someone, however, fucking is.

I can tell you it sure ain't the college bookstores. Although they do try their best to make it worse.

Do you mean publisher or author? I always assumed it was the publisher getting filthy rich.

I know the authors don't make much unless they sell a HUGE amount of copies. Everyone involved in the chain says they aren't the ones making cash. Maybe he was talking about the distributor instead of the publisher. Either way, it's obscenely overpriced.
