So let's make them noisier.
Jesse Toprak, an analyst for industry data provider TrueCar.com in Santa Monica, California, said in an interview, “I’m sure all of us have experienced at some time the fear of getting struck by a Prius.”

Yep. Every day, Jesse, I wake up and my uppermost fear is getting run down by a Prius I can't hear. We should also start painting cars with garish colour schemes, just in case anyone can't see them. We'll also add a few dozen strobe lights at key points on the vehicle that continually flash while it's in motion so we aren't being mean to the colour blind.

I think it's all unfair, everyone talks about the pedestrian that can't hear the Prius but what about the Prius that didn't hear the pedestrian? All pedestrians should be required to carry some sort of device that emits a loud tone that will be audible to all approaching Prius' so they can be aware of them and act accordingly.

They should install some kind of noise making device that draws all that free electricity from those batteries that grow on trees and are totally natural and non polluting during the manufacturing process.

Perhaps an audible alarm that says, "Beware, douchebag coming" over and over.

Obviously worried about the risk that a near-silent electric scooter would pose to the many cyclists and pedestrians of its cities, Domino’s Netherlands designed a pedestrian warning system like no other.
