That's approaching a new era of the economy with attitudes and tools that mainly applied to the old.
The other newer approach is through blogging. Just start being a journalist as best you can now instead of waiting. It still takes a one-in-a-million chance to make it pay outright or transition it into meaningful employment, but at least there you can better your odds with skill and dedication. Better to seek that audience than just waiting for an inheritance.

I think it also explains Media Bias: the members of the media are all upper-class twits, so to speak. SWPLs, so to speak.
