A ghost did!

I remember a movie about this same subject that was "based on a true story". The plot was that the woman was getting beaten by her dead abusive husband. Researchers setup an exact replica of her house in a sound stage, and filmed her getting beaten by something that wasn't there. Anyone else ever see this movie?

Yep. They had liquid nitrogen or something and they were going to freeze the ghost.

That's it. The movie is actually watchable if anyone is curious.
