Really any answer is acceptable except "batter dipped." I hate those.

Oh, god, Jesus, who the fuck came up with those, and why do they still exist? They should be banned.

There was a local place near me that had GREAT fries then they changed to batter dipped. I complained to the manager who insisted those were much better, and now instead of once a month I go to that place about once a year.

This poll is too boolean.

So, overall, I love the steak fries (fat fries) best. Particularly when served with steak or a burger where they can sop up some juices. NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM.

In the absence of said steak or juices, they are still awesome, but only if crispy. Crispy fries come in many shapes (McDonalds, steak fries, CFA fries). The CFA ones are pretty great.

The problem I have with crinke cut is they always remind me of the "fries" you get from a grocery store freezer which never really taste quite like fries.

Hand cut can be good, but there's a lot of variety in quality.

You should have burned them to the ground.

Some places' hand cut fries are just soggy logs of potatoes, which is gross.

Others do it right.

Where's the option for "shape doesn't matter, just be sure to overcook them until they are a dark mahogany brown and super crunchy."

I find almost all restaurant fries to be disappointing. There are a couple of places that will cook to order, though.

EDIT: I picked batter dipped just because they tend to be more cooked and crispy. You almost never get sad floppy moist batter fries. They'd be better without the batter but with the extra cooking, though.

Well yeah. Similar rules apply to any food or beverage. A margarita is like a finely tuned Stradivarius -- great when handled properly, ass otherwise.

I picked batter dipped just because they tend to be more cooked and crispy.

A french fry dipped in batter may as well be jammed up someone's ass before it's served.

I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and think he didn't have a retarded palette thinking beef bbq was better than pork, but now this.

If the place will cook them right I'll take anything else on the list over battered fries. But most places don't.

IMO poorly cooked, limp, soggy hand cut fries are still better than perfectly prepared batter dipped fries.

I dislike them, generally. Regular if I have to have them. Would rather order two sandwiches than the combo.

Or tater tots.

My favorite type of french fry is "Food snobs are drooling retards."
