So the heavily favored French team was talking shit about how they were there to crush the Americans in the 4x100 relay, and that meet occurred tonight.

If you missed it, it was phenomenal.

The Australians started off big in the first relay, but the U.S. picked it up in the second. Our third leg guy is the slowest and France was able to take a commanding lead. Their final leg guy is 6'5" and flies through the water. The commentators were going on and on about how it was over and Phelps would lose his shot at 8 golds.

Well, the U.S.'s fourth leg guy must not have heard them, because he turned it on in the second half of the final leg to beat the fucking frogs by a hair.

We watched the video this morning. NBC has what are 720p or so quality videos of most of the Olympics online.

The race was absolutely incredible.

I got to watch that as it happened. About halfway thru the last lap, the frog had a clear half-length lead. One helluva speed up towards the end. We starting losing ground at about the third dude. The anchor swam probably the best swim of his life, making up for the slack performance he turned in last Olympics.

Team bronze, but Luskin won the overall women's gold, which is the crown jewel. Johnson got the silver.

Probably.

There's been a lot of complaining from various countries about the bias the judges have been showing the Chinese.

The credibility of the Olympics can be summed up in one situation:
3 different Chinese female gymnasts were listed as being too young by official sources a year ago. Now, all of their ages have miraculously changed and the IOC accepts China at it's word instead of looking into it.

The Olympics have become a joke. If judges aren't being biased towards the host country or biased against countries they don't like (remember the French cunt who purposely scored the Americans low in ice skating?), then the athletes are using performance enhancing drugs (See Greece, East Germany, Russia, most Track and Field stars, etc.).

The Chinese may break the age rules with their gymnast but at least they didn't do something as underhanded as wear the wrong color underwear.

I'm not familiar with field hockey. Do they normally pants the other teams. Is that how they found out.
