Went to Menard's a little bit ago, I was alone. Unloaded my purchases into my car, put the cart in the cart corral, started walking back to my car...

When suddenly I hear, "HELP! HELP ME! SAVE ME!" coming from my immediate right. Sounded like a young boy.

The "HELPs!" keep coming, I am scanning cars trying to figure out the source.... seemed to be a SUV with windows tinted so dark I couldn't see in. I see a door is slightly open, but at my angle, I couldn't see inside.

I thought it was a kid getting kidnapped. "HELP ME, PLEASE!"

I start toward the SUV, really wishing I could see inside... I have no idea what I am getting in to....

When I hear, "HELP! I AM BEING FORCED TO LISTEN TO HORRIBLE MUSIC!"

Then I wanted to smack the kid.

Might be warranted. What kind of music was it?

You have a foreign diplomat who jokes about lighting his tennis shoe on fire on a plane. We scramble fighter jets. They slap his hand. So I guess its ok if this kid grows up to yell fire in a crowded movie theater.

Too bad. Would have served him right if you had called the police to report distressed cries of help coming from a large dark-tinted SUV, license plate number blah blah blah...

It occurred to me after the fact when I had time to process what happened that making a phone call first didn't enter my mind at all.

Well, yeah, if it were a real problem you don't call, you deal with it. IMO.
