Some people in the article say loophole, others say it's valid.

Boom. Something has to give. Either we let anyone in all the time or we set down rules & adhere to them.

U.S. v. Wong Kim Ark...
Held: In a 6-2 decision, the Court held that under the Fourteenth Amendment, a child born in the United States of parents of foreign descent who, at the time of the child's birth are subjects of a foreign power but who have a permanent domicile and residence in the United States and are carrying on business in the United States, and are not employed in any diplomatic or official capacity under a foreign power, and are not members of foreign forces in hostile occupation of United States territory, becomes a citizen of the United States at the time of birth.
Hmm, "permanent" must have had its meaning stretched considerably. & one would assume your primary "business" in the U.S. would have to be something other than "ensure U.S. citizenship for child."

Indeed, perhaps a one-year residency term for the parents should be established or something.
Or, taking it in another direction, let's make it profitable. Charge high prices for the medical care of foreign nationals wanting to give their child US citizenship, along with a nice fat special visa charge for them to get here to do it.

I think the words permanent domicile clears it up for me. Not a hotel in New York giving special deals.

Technically, you could classify the area under an overpass as a domicile.

Tell them to keep there asses at home and charge them for citizenship. How much could we charge for that? $50,000? $100,000?

Probably wouldn't get enough paying customers to break even on all the increased security & border patrols you'll need.
