I ended up using my laptop with my home VPN to tunnel into home network and change it.

Still, I wonder if there is some way to change it auto-magically, or through some web interface, or something that just doesn't look so bad if someone sees it.

I remember the last 5.25" game I'd was Silent Service (II?). There was a beautiful function called the "boss key" that would black out the entire screen & pause the game w\ a single keystroke. Eve should implement that so you can use it whilst on base or in similar non-critical times.

Just as a precaution, you can queue up skills to train one after the other if you plan to be offline for several hours, right?

Nope, but at the higher levels, skills takes days, not hours, so it only requires you to train lots of skills early.

I used to have a game... forget which... the panic button pulled up an actual spreadsheet.

Anyone give this a shot? I just planned my next 2 days of training using it. Pretty nice. Gives stats, effects on stats, SP growth, even little alerts when your training completes, etc.
And it automagically downloads your info from Eve, btw, do you dont have to type shit it. The automagic feature is fragile, but if you get an "invalid account" or whatever error msg, just try again later.

Can you guys confirm that when I enter the Password and Username it isn't shooting it somewhere... there have been a rash of account hacks lately, never heard the story on them, however.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of entering my account info into third party apps.

Eh... What are they gonna do? steal my trial account? I will probably change it, but it is a very interesting program.
I'm going to see about building my own though.
