That was fun.

The game is pretty simplistic, and I don't see us becoming crazy addicted to it, but it definitely earned a spot in the rotation.

I love that we were getting our asses handed to us on Hard difficulty.

Other play modes that I've tried.

Survival. As I guessed, you pick a map and waves get harder and harder. I got to wave 8 the first time, wave 10 the second time.

Tactics only (or something like that). You setup towers and then the wave comes. You do not participate in the battle. You don't shoot, you don't get shot, etc. BUT, you do collect mana as it falls and can upgrade defenses. You can not heal them or create new ones. I only played this once. Again, I think it's wave after wave. I got to like 3 or something.

Also, you can change characters in game. We have done that to swap equipment and stuff. But, you can get your Knight to place some walls, your apprentice to place some towers, and play as your monk to beat shit up. Once you start the wave, you can't change of course. But, you can mix and match your stuff. I was using my apprentice and maxed out my tower defenses. Then switched to my summoner and built archers and mages to place another 60 points of defenses. Played the waves as both because they both brought stuff to the fight. Not sure which I like fighting with more though.

Dungeon Defender is at 85% off right now. Can get a shit ton of DLC for not much money. Should open up the rumored 6 person maps.

I bought the one for $12 that includes everything even though I already had the game itself.

Same, sort of. I had some of the stuff included from a previous bundle. So I bought the remaining DLC individually to save a bit of money. But basically, I now own all of the DLC.

The DLC gets you knew characters to play (like my hovering one), more maps, more challenges, etc. Maybe new game modes. I haven't read through everything yet.

So, specifically, everyone is buying "Dungeon Defenders Collection?" It is a long paragraph of DLC currently for $12.49.

If so, I will get it January first after a new month of disposable income becomes available. I already spent my limit for December.

I have purchased it all. Not sure if 'everyone' is. But I did. And it looks like Leisher did. Well, I guess to you, that is 'everyone'. :-)

I beat the big demon solo on that one level, he has 220k hit points, total.

I did it using my mage towers. I just figured out how to place them correctly, is all.

And I enjoyed in in spite of the fact I hadn't been playing longer than the demon and therefor knew I would win.

Just bought the DLC. I didn't not enjoy how it told me that even though I already owned a copy of the original DD, that I would NOT be receiving an additional copy even though I just bought an additional copy with the DLC. Planned on giving that extra copy to my kid.

I have an extra copy I can give to your kid if you haven't bought him one yet.

You probably want him to have it because you know the game better than him and can beat him. :-)

Played that first baby level solo on "Insane..." easy.

Played the first baby level on "Nightmare." You start with the 160 mana you get out of the chests. That buys me 4 magic missili towers, 2 fireball towers, or some combination.

Level starts... "10 enemies... no problem." The first problem was the multiple 10k hitpoint spiders that came out of nowhere. The main problem was the 800k hit point ogre.

What in the world are you guys doing in the Open league? Don't you know everyone plays that game in the ... other one that starts with an "R"?

You all finally load up a game where I have some leveled characters to play with (four near level 80) and then you go and join the other league where I got squat all. :p

I dont believe we are in a league at all.

It might be a different word. But when you click "Play Online" there are two buttons to choose from, and you guys pressed the wrong one.

I'm not sure I'm ready to run with a level 80 character yet though.

Especially now that we apparently have to start over.

Playing with the level 80 character would be better if we were level 1.... or the level 80 character should join us level 30s?

You have to start over?

I was just kidding, I don't think there's a "wrong" choice. Don't start over just for me. Hell, I don't even know what the difference is between Open and Ranked.

Level 30 already? Geeze. Besides I can't play with you, GORDON, I spend way too much time in Dungeon Defender looking at all the green dots and comparing armor and weapons. :p
