I can see that.

I loved the original Aladdin. One of my favorite movies. I dont see how this could stand up to that.

The live action Beauty/Beast, while nearly a shot-for-shot remake, somehow had none of the charm of the original. I expect the same here, and the Lion King thing.

This is one of Disney's problems. Maleficent did really well, now they want to remake everything "live action". News flash... Lion King is going to be like watching the Discovery channel with some of the animal attack scenes. And while it was effective in the animated film, it's liable to be pretty traumatizing in a photorealistic live action film.

And yes, I'm disappointed that Will Smith would agree to do a movie in Blueface.

Maleficent was a very different take on the character. I like that one.

The hunting season scene in Bambi would be interesting.

As there's not a Lion King thread and we were already talking about it here...

The previews of Lion King look... not very good. The photo realistic animation isn't too bad (doesn't look outstanding), but aside from the baboons the movie is filled with animals that aren't capable of a lot of facial emoting. If they do a level of cartooning them so they can emote, then what was the point? I suspect this one will be the worst received of these live action remakes.
