Kidman is getting a lot of buzz for this role. It reminds me of Theron's role in Monster.

I watched the trailer yesterday, and couldn't really make sense of what it's about.

She's apparently a cop who was undercover with some gang, but it's years later and she has to confront stuff.
That's the best I could come up with...
I'm speculating she fell in love with a criminal and that's his kid she's talking to in the trailer.
