Some say there's no point in dealing with bullies while they are school kids, because people will need to deal with bullies all their lives and high school is a safe place to train for them (as long as you don't commit suicide, oopsie!)

But here's a thought... What if we get disturbed kids the help they need while they're young, and then there aren't any more adult bullies to deal with?

I'm certainly all for this. Feels like this has been changing since we were kids.

Social media has really exacerbated the problem. Now kids who aren't even bullies get labeled that way because a post is interpreted the wrong way. It also gives me kids a chance to act like bullies as they know have access to kids they normally wouldn't.

My wife and I just had a discussion about this today. Neither of us grew up with the types of kids we see in our oldest kid's social circle. We had friends and little drama. My oldest has a huge social circle, but the fucking drama...holy shit. Every day it's something new. Every day the group decides one person is the enemy and the following day that person is back in good graces while someone else is on the outs.

It's insanity.

I keep telling my daughter "In 5 years none of these people will matter to you, so don't take anything they may say or do too seriously."
