I wouldn't say they were making the Germans out to be nazis again.... it was literally one rogue general and his pet scientist, both of them having the God of War literally whispering in their ears to influence them. The other German leaders and soldiers were portrayed as more than humane, for the most part. They were still at war.

Was.that... because "they took over our village and made us slaves?" Her motivation is slipping my mind.
The chick crossed the road to get to the Ares on the other side?

Exactly. She had a single-minded focus on destroying Ares...except you know, we'll toss out our whole plan to go save this one village.

All day long I have been picturing this little scenario:
Thib takes his daughter to see Wonder Woman.
She is completely absorbed into the movie... watching a strong Woman kick all manner of ass, she finds it inspiring.
Thib is sitting there grumbling.
WW rushes into no-man's-land... daughter cheers... Thib elbows her... "What's she doing? She's off mission! Christ."
His daughter watches the evil general and scientist... the evil scientist is a woman. Perhaps his daughter sees it as a warning, to not follow a path that could lead to that outcome.
Thib throws his popcorn at the screen, "Jesus fuck! It's world war one, people! The germans weren't nazis yet!" He grabs his daughter's hand and drags her out of the theater. "We aren't staying to watch the end of this trash."
Daughter cries at yet another movie she wanted to love.

I intentionally hid my lack of being overly impressed from the four girls we took...and my wife. It was only later when she revealed to me that she was also very underwhelmed by the movie. She had been displaying the same fake excitement to the girls to not dampen their enjoyment and inspiration from the movie.
The other "good guys" not named Chris Pine were completely pointless. I think their backstories were victims of the re-writes.
If Chris Pine comes out, I get to say "called it". Also, he SUCKED in this movie. By the way, he's not dead right? They didn't actually show him die...
I hated the German villain and thought he was way too cartoony. I did like the chemist, but she got no backstory. Hated Aries too. The twist was not well developed and why did they have him keep that face? Aries should be a buff young guy not an aging British gentleman.
The entire "fish out of water" shtick they had Diana doing made her seem like she was partially retarded at times. 20-30 minutes of it in the beginning is fine, but 2 hours later and she's still a fucking moron?
The fight scene at the end was visually impressive, but I was thinking, "What are her powers again? Why didn't she use this shit on Doomsday?"
I didn't hate the movie, I just didn't love it.

In the meantime, marvel's probably tossing 10 scripts like this a day in the ash can. This is WB celebrating thier first non-shitty superhero flick since the Keaton days. Does anyone really think this is the start of a trend versus a blind squirrel getting caught in an acorn hail of acorns?

Well, it has resulted in almost a complete re-shoot of Justice League, so there's hope.

Just because you say it, doesn't make it true.
Affleck was the best part of BvS.

Speaks volumes about that movie's quality.
