Vet with PTSD murders her therapy dog.
Bitch is broken. Putting her down would be an act of mercy. Do it before she does this to any kids she might have.

I'm waiting to hear more on this story. On the one hand, that's still the method that many dog owners still use to put their animals down (especially out in the country). The giggling and laughing and the act of filming it doesn't look good, but I still want to hear more before I'm willing to call for her death.

Takes them all five shots while they laugh and ask for their turn? Sorry, I don't buy that. Timmy needed a single shot to put down Ol' Yeller. Anyone with any sort of moral compass wouldn't require 5 shots to kill an animal, particularly one that trusts them.
Ask any shrink or profiler and #1 on the list of behaviors that should be red flags is animal cruelty.

I shot a severely injured opossum because it's jaw was hanging off and it was suffering. Unloaded 10 .22 bullets into it. 7 in the heart and lungs and 3 in the brain pan. It was still kicking. Dying, but not dead.
Like I said, I would have to see all of it before I made the determination. Was the laughing actually while they were shooting it, or was the laughing included somewhere in the video somewhere and they've described it this way? I don't trust DA's or news agencies at all. Remember when NBC said the guy told 911 Treyvon was black out of the blue? Then we find out 911 asked what his race was and they edited that part out?
Yeah, I need to see more before I make a conclusive determination.

Are you serious? The evidence isn't enough?
Rollins tied up Cam to a tree and then shot the dog five times. Heng could be heard in a video asking Rollins to let him shoot the animal, as well.
A) It's a service dog. You got it from some-fucking-where. If you need that service, then you go take the terminal one back to the joint that gave it to you in the first place, presumably because you want a replacement to continue the service. You at least call them or someone else to arrange some other form of assistance before you blast your current best option in the head with shitty aim.
B) Laughter can be anonymously added. How about that second sentence? Was there a ventriloquist sound-alike in the vicinity?
In another clip, the woman walks over to the dead dog, picks him up and covers him with a sheet, saying, “I love you, you’re a good dog.”
C) That's the kind of thing you do BEFORE you shoot an animal you give a fuck about. Saying goodbye to a corpse is what you do when you didn't get a chance to do it prior to corpsification taking place. That's a weak defense for the executioners.
D) I don't think either of these folks had veterinary qualifications. Unless a postmortem confirms some unmistakably (even to the layman) fatal condition apart from multiple gunshot wounds, any mercy killing claim falls by the wayside.

In all likelihood they are guilty. I just want to see all the evidence laid out before I make the claim. Was it a service dog, or did they buy a dog one of those vests that you can buy anywhere so they could take him into restaurants? Also, the organizations that provide service dogs generally operate on a shoestring budget. They aren't a rental car company. You don't just get to swap them out so the organization can assume to cost to euthanize the sick ones.
Did Heng ask Rollins to let "him shoot the animal as well", or was his girlfriend breaking down over the task she was doing and he said, "let me finish this for you"?
I don't know if it was shitty aim. In a world where most people's experience in shooting things are limited to TV, movies and video games we don't understand how things work. I didn't when I started hunting. I shot a doe a year and a half ago. She wandered out to the edge of the woods and was looking down the power-line the stand I was in was on. As soon as she poked her head out I took a head shot. Hunting with a .243. She went down immediately and started kicking. I waited in the stand for her to stop moving. She kicked for about 30 seconds, which had me wondering if I'd fouled my shot and it wasn't as clean of a kill as I'd hoped.
After she stopped kicking, i climbed down and walked over to see what was what. The bullet had entered between the eye and the ear and exited the back of her head. It had blown out the top of her skull and vacated all but about a tablespoon of brain matter from her skull cavity. All that kicking was apparently brain stem function. My first inclination when an animal I'm harvesting goes down is to keep shooting until they stop moving in order to be as humane as possible. As a hunter, you temper that with not wanting to have a lot of worthless meat on the animal due to multiple high velocity gunshot wounds. I shot the afore mentioned opossum 10 times because it was still moving. In all likelyhood, the first one or two were probably fatal. But my reaction (because I was trying to end its suffering) was to just keep shooting.
As far as her saying "I love you, you're a good dog" being the sort of thing you say before you shoot an animal... it's also the sort of thing you say after you euthanize your dog. I had to have two of my wife's dogs euthanized due to advanced age, and I kissed and talked to them both before and after they were dead. This part and covering him with the sheet was what actually made me think I needed to hear more before drawing a conclusion. These were not acts of indifference.
Likely that they are guilty. Also possible we have another Mike Nifong trying to make hay with these charges because he's eyeing a possible run for higher office soon.

Here is a much better article on the incident. They are calling it a service dog, but it actually wasn't. There appears to have been nothing wrong with the animal (2 year old dog) as she had claimed to have been looking for a home for it prior to this event. They have the boyfriend's quote from the video as “let me hit him once,” which is hard to interpret as his wanting to take the burden of killing the animal off of the woman.
This second article just goes to show how much Yahoo (original source) sucks.
