Re-watched this movie over the weekend thanks to a horrible cold and HBOGo.
It still holds up! Aside from the dated technology I could see this movie existing in today's world. Well, except for the two characters who call Richard Pryor a nigger. Oh, and the black face...
Wilder is awesome, and really the driving force behind the movie. Pryor doesn't even show up until it's halfway over. Imagine that. A buddy comedy where one doesn't show up until it's almost over. Jill Clayburgh is the damsel in distress, and she's got great on screen chemistry with Wilder.
Lots of folks whose faces you'll know:
Patrick McGoohan is the villain. Richard Kiel and Ray Walston are his thugs. Scatman Crothers is a porter. Clifton James is that dim witted small town sheriff he plays in everything. Ned Beatty is on the train. A young Fred Willard makes a cameo.
Absolutely worth a watch.
