Watching some "old" movies with the kid that have a little more subtlety than Pacific Rim, now that he's getting a little older.
This one has Rod Tidwell playing Carl Brashear, the first black guy in the Navy to do something other than cook or shine shoes. He became a Navy Diver.
"A Navy diver is not a fighting man, he is a salvage expert."
His nemesis/hero is Deniro, playing a fucked up racist cracker Master Chief.
It's a good lesson for a young boy about how honor counts, and don't ever, EVER fucking quit.
