Based on a true story, and from some light research they're pretty close to it.
Miles Teller is a masseuse with an insanely hot girlfriend (I think she'll be WAY into Catt's wheelhouse). He realizes this isn't how he should make a living and hooks up with Jonah Hill selling weapons. Their ambition and willingness to skirt the rules leads them to get some big contracts.
Jonah Hill is physically larger than ever and plays a fucking douchebag. He is easily the second most unlikable character in a movie this year. (Congrats Jesse Eisenberg! Your Lex Luthor is still the worst!) Now I joke about Jesse's Luthor, but the difference between that role and Hill here is that Hill is intentionally playing a guy you will immediately hate...
Seriously, Hill is amazingly good in this role. He absolutely steals the movie. It's a hilarious contrast to his "America's Sweetheart" role in This is The End.
The movie is good and has some comedy, but it's a movie about some guys who lied and cheated their way to some quick money. It's mostly a drama, so if that doesn't appeal to you, move on.
I found the performances to be worth my time, and led to some interesting research as I wanted to know more about what went on.
