Synopsis:
Generic Annoying Reporter Archetype #8 decides to investigate her brother's mysterious death and hilarity ensues.

Review:
A mixed movie that starts out boring as hell, generally plods along in creative swampland for a lot of the duration. and occasionally rises to moments of, "Hmm, that's not bad."

A reporter, her cameraman, and her intern sneak off to check out why the reporter's brother went to an obscure Polish village and never came back. Without spoiling too much, she finds out firsthand exactly why and it figures prominently into the "twist" about 90% of the way through. The setup is very typical: tiny-ass village out in the woodlands full of unfriendly people who don't particularly like outsiders. The town elders are the religious elite, a high priest and his assistants, who mainly dress in snappy black garb. Oddly enough, there's a dark, grey cloud that hangs over this one spot out in the woods a bit away from town that no one wants to talk about. Like clockwork, the trio of morons (Tom) hikes out to check it ... which does result in one of the better scenes in the movie. The townsfolk find them and a prolonged chase sequence ensues kicked off by the ToM poking around down in the town catacombs. You know, the environment where they'll have the least advantage.

The cameraman is trying hard to do his best Chris Pratt impersonation. There's also a villager who looks like a mix of Sting and Billy Idol on steroids. All in all, not a bad flick but not really good either. There are only a few decent moments in the entire flick, and they're spread too far between.

Verdict:
You could do worse.
