Group wants your elementary school to recognize another viewpoint.

It's not what you immediately believe based on the headlines and names, and that's my problem with it. I get what they're trying to do, but they're being too snarky with the name. They should have called themselves the Church of Darwin. That name is about "another viewpoint", while the Church of Satan or whatever is more about mocking the church groups, and that's always a stupid strategy. You don't change minds by insulting them.

I'm not sure you can change minds at all on such an integral part of identity. However, getting them when they're kids would be the way to do it.

Agreed, but mocking their parents in the process is pretty dumb.

Nobody is going to let their kid go to an after school club whose title is basically: "Everything your parents believe in is stupid."

Eh, that's just attributing power to a more benevolent nothingness. The greatest trick got pulled by man, who convinced himself both exist.

That's what I meant. The "he" I used there referred to god, not satan. Just for the record.

I liked the futurama god. "When you do your job right people dont realize you did anything at all."

Still a convenient cop-out for the divine that sort of implies I'd notice when he's slacking off.
