Bruce Willis creates a city/resort where you can pay to live out any fantasy. This is accomplished through the use of robots that are perfect replicas of people (replicants) that populate the city. Thomas Jane is a cop that hates it and thinks it creates violence in the real world.
Shit hits the fan when one of the robots becomes self aware.
This should have been a LOT better. It's really, really oddly paced and edited. The story is told very slowly and then really, really fast. Shots are thrown in randomly like reaction shots of people from across town who can't see or hear or possibly know what's happening.
There was an interesting premise here that, for whatever reason, was wasted.
