Didn't a bunch of y'all used to play Star Wars Galaxies? If so, and you haven't heard, you might be interested to know that they've revamped the game. Enough so to almost make it a completely different game. Combat no longer has autoattack, it's now FPS style aim-n-shoot. Plus the interface is a bit different. If you liked it but it just got dull, might be worth a month's fees to check it out again and see if the changes makes it interesting again for you.
Oh, and they've changed from skill trees to nine "classes", one of which is Jedi. So if you wanted to try being a Jedi you can do that now without tons of pointless grinding to get there.
And they've given everyone Jump to Lightspeed for free, so if you skipped that one you can check it out, too. That's pretty fun, so far, IMO.

Change in combat style won't mean anything if there is still unattackable people, and no-loot pvp.
Used to be you had to join the factions (?) in order to be attackable, and then only by opposing faction members.... and there was still no risk to death because you never lost any inventory. Thus, snooze-fest.

I'd say you don't qualify for "if you like it but it just got dull", then. :p

I'd be interested in finding another MMORPG for us to play again (wasn't someone going to try out EVE?). The only problem is that nothing compares to UO in its early form.

DDO is a fun dungeon crawl perfect for small groups. No pvp sadly. I tried Eve in its beta stages... seemed pretty dull unless you had a ton of money and very grindy until you get it. Seems very much geared towards big guilds or someone with a hell of alot of time.

Well, we have a ready-made guild of at least 5.

...fans would not be allowed to access the source code in order to run their own servers post closure.
A final "fuck you" from Sony.

And UO outlives another competitor.
