It's an Eli Roth movie. You should know that going in.

A dumb college chick decides to head to Peru to protest deforestation because she saw a cute guy. They meet some cannibals and the fun begins.

So, this movie entertained me because nobody does cannibal movies without zombies and the film was really bright. I know that sounds odd, but it's a ridiculously bright movie and that's rare for a horror film. That being said, the film sucks and has major problems.

It starts off well enough despite some really bad acting. There's a white haired chick in the beginning that looks like an alien and her acting is award winning bad.

I thought they were going a certain way with it and this was clearly intentional. Just a lot of misdirection to start off. Then the cannibals are just there. I mean, right now. I won't go into what happens at that point in case you want to see the film, but I will point out more problems with the movie.

First, the acting is terrible throughout. Second, character motivations are really odd. One girl does something completely out of character for a complete coward. Third, this movie is actually an anti-corporation piece and it suffers badly because of it. Finally, that ending. No, not the first one that's just a Friday the 13th thing. The second ending that comes after the credits have begun to roll. What in the holy fuck was that? Did we just switch genres all of a sudden? SO dumb.

Anyway, never pay for this movie. You can torture yourself with a free viewing on Netflix or something, but don't expect to enjoy it.

On the bright side, after the first 20 minutes I was actually looking forward to all the idiotic, annoying college kids getting killed.

That's about it.

But a couple things did bother me a little. Any scene having to do with FGM, and what prettyboy was doing to relieve stress. The second one moreso.

I feel like more could have been done with ants.
