This should be interesting. One of the final 24 has some nude pictures floating around the web.
This link is NOT SAFE FOR WORK.

If you remember, a large, black woman was tossed off the show for the same thing. Let's see if the skinny, white girl gets the boot.

This link is NWS and contains the "hardcore" stuff.

My wife watches it.
That's my reading time. I finished Harrington on Hold'em Volume I last night.

From what I've read, the "hard core" stuff isn't her. That's fine by me, because the shit in the fountain of the WWII Memorial is much more offensive to me.

Primetime is when I'm usually with the family so I'm stuck watching it with the wife. There is NOTHING on during those times slots that I want to watch so I can't even protest. I usually spend the time reading to or playing with the kid, so it's ok. And to be honest, I enjoy the first few weeks when the morons are all trying out. Nothing is more fun than watching some asshat have their dreams crushed.

My favorites are the ones who declare, "You'll be sorry." or "You're making a huge mistake." because they all say "You'll see my name in lights." or something to that effect. Six seasons and not one of those people have been able to prove Simon, Randy, and the drugged up slut wrong.

After those initial weeks the show really goes down hill. Especially the time between 24-approx 6 contestants. That's when soooo much time is wasted as they're just weeding out people who really have no shot of winning.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand, I've heard they're not throwing the girl off the show. I'll be stunned if the other girl they threw off for the exact same thing doesn't sue.

I've only known ONE person to pull that sort of thing off. Some high school play director said some chick was the worst performer she'd ever seen.

She got a major role on Broadway a couple years later.

Michael Jordan didn't make his high school basketball team his junior(?) year.

Hell, six seasons and only one winner has grown their fan base beyond the show.

However, he was cut from the varsity basketball team during his sophomore year because at 5 feet 11 inches (1.80 m) he was deemed underdeveloped. The following summer, Jordan grew four inches (10 cm),[1] and trained rigorously. Over his next two seasons, he averaged 25 points per game. In his senior season at Laney High, Jordan averaged a triple-double: 29.2 points, 11.6 rebounds, and 10.1 assists.[5] He was selected to the McDonald's All-American Team as a senior.

Unfortunately, I have to point out that you're wrong.

The winners were: Kelly Clarkson, Ruben, Fantasia, Carrie Underwood, and Taylor Hicks.

People seem to forget about Kelly Clarkson being on the show. She's now a pretty big name in the recording industry as she had a lot of hits over the last year. Keep in mind that she's been more successful after breaking away from the contract she won via the AI contest. There is no denying that she's a huge star and has really taken off since leaving the show.

Ruben is off the map. He was pushing 450 and had zero charisma. If you can't move and don't look great, you probably won't appeal to the majority of the pop audience and he didn't. People liked him because he was nice and a good singer, but he was very limited so he didn't appeal to a broader audience.

Fantasia is on Broadway now, so she can be considered a success. Not on the level of Kelly Clarkson, but still a success.

Carrie Underwood is equal to Kelly Clarkson. She just won the Grammy for best new artist. She's had hit songs and a hit record in the two years since she won. She's a big, big deal in the country world (She's the reason why you don't see any country singers this year. People complained that a country singer doesn't belong on a show looking for a pop star. Everything she sang she turned into a country song.)

Taylor Hicks was a fluke, IMHO. He's not a great singer and due to his style of music, blues/jazz, he won't ever hit it big in the mainstream.

So there you have two of the first five winners went on to become huge stars beyond their AI audience.

But what about non-winners...

Beyond the winners, just about everyone in all the seasons' top 12 have singed record deals. Kelly Pickler, who got really ugly, just signed a deal. Clay Aiken has multiple albums, is probably a bigger name than everyone but Kelly and Carrie, and had a NBC Christmas special. Jennifer Hudson just won a fucking Oscar and has been on broadway.

Sales figures for the top 25 Idol contestants can be found there towards the middle-ish part of that page.

Bobby Knight and his kid, who later has become a coach himself, were at the McDonald's All-American game which features the top 50 basketball players coming out of high school. Bobby asked his kid which player stood out to him, who is the diamond in the rough, who was going to become a huge star? His kid scanned the list and pointed to a kid at the bottom of the list, an "also ran", and said this guy is going to be a great player.

It was Michael Jordan.

Ah. So Kelly and the country chick I've never heard of. Not that that's saying much, since I've never heard of most of them.

As soon as it comes on tonight I'm logging onto Full Tilt.

There's a 33% chance that my wife will rewind a performance so I can listen to a song that I didn't consider worthy of paying attention to the first time.

So this show is finally ending and Simon Cowell thinks it started sucking when he and Abdul left the show.

He's not wrong. Everyone I knew that watched stopped when he left the show.

What's FOX going to do now that it has all these additional hours of programming to fill?
