Did you know that outside vendors actually cut the trailers most of the time? I always thought the people who made the movie did it, but that is not the case.

Yeah, learned that a while back.
It can just be disappointing.... I want to go see art, whether it is light popcorn fare, or something more intense. I think some directors are the same way... creating, not just trying to get a max return on investment.
The trailers are cut to get the butts into the seats, period, and obviously the best way to do that is to show all the aweseomest parts. I get that. But I don't have to like it.
