The movie is getting bad reviews, but mostly because it is more of the same, just bigger, and now it's racist because the bad guys are from the middle east.

I probably couldn't tell you the difference between Olympus has Fallen and White House Down if my life depended on it... but I was entertained enough by both. They go into my "action movies to watch while working out" queue

I think the reason this movie was hated by certain people was because the bad guys were immigrants from the middle east who came over to be bad guys. Down with that sort of thing.
Anyway, it was as dumb as the first one, which means I greatly enjoyed watching Gerard Butler gleefully killing bad guys and dropping F-bombs while doing it.

I watched it while working out today (while doing a virtual bike ride through London, no less - The contrast between the images in the movie and my screen were fun)...
It's exactly what you think it would be. It's a lot of action, thin plot, and just fun enough to keep going. I probably wouldn't watch it without doing something else at the same time though. The thing at the end was a nice "FU, we're still America"

I was entertained throughout, but thought it was dumber than the first. Some of those assassinations required planning and timing yet the targets were in certain places by complete chance.
The special effects were shockingly bad.
The only thing missing from this movie was Gerard Butler screaming "America, Fuck yeah!"
I hope there's a third. "The International Space Station Is Falling"

Hahahah! that would be awesome. But I'm watch it. I'm all over stupid action films since I can watch them on my trainer. If the movie's good, and my wife is interested, have to save it for that.
