I started following him on Twitter a long time ago for some reason, and sadly, he's a batshit crazy left winger. He truly thinks all guns are evil and we have zero need for them. If they were all gone crime would disappear and things would be better.
He rants about it daily and publicly posts dissenting views.
Today he posted a bunch of anti-gun stuff, then an hour later a picture of a Santa doll with the caption: "My dog murdered Santa". I wanted to point out the irony that his dog didn't use a gun, but figured I'd just be called a right wing loon and dismissed.

The Twitters is filled with celebs of all levels declaring that folks against Syrian refugees are "crazy" (Huffington Post's word) and wrong.
Here's one I responded to just now:
My response:
I won't tell you who said it because I honestly only think TPR and I know who the guy is, but 1) He's Canadian, so it's easy for him to sit there and say "Let the refugees into the U.S." 2) Implying the two events are exactly alike is insane.
-Jewish suicide bombers weren't killing innocent folks.
-Jewish hate groups weren't waging war both traditionally and through terrorism.
-And Jewish ideology doesn't declare themselves superior above all others, and justify the murder of said others.
Here's one I responded to just now:
The parallels between what’s happening now, and the Holocaust are far more numerous than I would’ve imagined.
My response:
There are absolutely parallels, but there's also a pretty big difference in ideology that separates the events.

"For you are a holy people to the LORD your God; the LORD your God has chosen you to be a people for His own possession out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth. "The LORD did not set His love on you nor choose you because you were more in number than any of the peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples, but because the LORD loved you and kept the oath which He swore to your forefathers, the LORD brought you out by a mighty hand and redeemed you from the house of slavery, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
Do I even need to go over all the old testament stories where the Hebrews murdered the shit out of people because they worshiped other gods?
Hell, the very first commandment concerns how Yahweh and his way is superior to all others.
"Thou shalt have no other gods before me"
The chief differences I see between Syria and the Holocaust are the following:
1) The holocaust didn't involve one sect of Jews going up against another.
2) The holocaust wasn't predated by a period of Jews oppressing, jailing, and otherwise stomping out all traces of moderation in their own faith.

I don't believe in going back to the stone ages to dig up ancient shit. Germans weren't killing Jews because of their violent ideology at the time and vice versa.

Germans were killing Jews because of age old prejudice, a national myth from the last war, and the fact the rest of Europe took an enormous shit upon them after it.

Last I checked, the Jews still believed in every single word I quoted, unless they're recently relinquished their title of "God's chosen people" or have decried the Ten Commandments. As far as applying stone age beliefs to modern times, yeah, I'm with you.

Peeps can believe anything they want, but when 10% of them start acting and supporting the actors, shit is different.
My personal rule of thumb is that if your religion has actually practiced peace constantly since, say, the Spanish Inquisition, then you are considered peaceful.
Outliers and individuals always exist, but all religions who haven't inspired murderous armies to act (more recently than 1800) while flying their flag step forward.... not so fast islam.

Apparently Americans in 1938 had similar attitudes towards Jewish refugees as they do today regarding Syrian refugees.
The difference is that there probably wasn't a handful of them who wanted Americans to die horrible deaths by their hands.
Not to mention, were we in the midst of a national debate on illegal immigrants whose votes were being used illegally by one party to gain dominance over another? (I'm seriously asking. I'm sure there was some debate on immigration at that time, but was one party gaining said votes with bribes?)

The Spanish Inquisition, established in 1438? You're shitting me if you think any major western religion gets a free pass. You can also include Shinto, Buddhism, and a host of others.

Happy go lucky Christians who are just as batshit insane as their Muslim counterparts.
The holocaust wasn't predated by a period of Jews oppressing, jailing, and otherwise stomping out all traces of moderation in their own faith.
There totally was a period of time in Jewish history that happened, though. There isn't much violent infighting between orthodox Jews and liberal ones nowadays. If you gloss over the IRA thing in the UK, Christianity is mainly quiet as well. The Sunni and Shi'a factions still fucking hate each other, though, even after a millennium plus to settle their shit. Then again, Christians also had that problem.

Never even heard of them, so had to read your link.Malcolm wrote:Happy go lucky Christians who are just as batshit insane as their Muslim counterparts.but all religions who haven't inspired murderous armies to act (more recently than 1800) while flying their flag step forward
In 2007, the government of Uganda claimed that the LRA had only 500 or 1,000 soldiers in total, but other sources estimated that there could have been as many as 3,000 soldiers, along with about 1,500 women and children.
Ok....... I guess that would count as an "army..." but it's still a pretty lame one. As I said, so dangerous I've never even heard of it. I still think every asshole's definition of "christian" is still a Creation loving, abortion hating hypocrite, and not a solder in a religious army in the Sudan.

*after a little searching* Oh, yes, I know who that is. I stopped reading his stuff years ago because 1) he's a complete asshole and screwed over some people I liked a lot more than him, and 2) he's retarded and vocal which is a deadly annoying combination.
