CBS? They're making shows for non-retirees now?

If CBS is doing this, they're probably going to bring back Helen Slater. She resonates with their target demographic.

6 minute trailer.
Seems like this could really bring in the female audience they want.

We got to the scene where she's doing super things and there's a grrrrl power song playing and my kid says, "This is cheesy."

You need to teach your kid about movies vs Network TV.

I'm a little thrown by the fact that I don't think they are going to fit her into the overall DC universe they are trying to build with Batman V Superman, Justice League, etc.
I never watched Smallville of Gotham or anything else for that reason.... it doesn't ever seem to fit with the universe they built before. I realize comics continually do this all the time, but I don't really do those, either.
So I'll probably pass, unless I hear super good things about it, or at least the current Superman shows up in Ep 1 when he finds out he actually has a living relative, which would be hugely amazing news to him. If it doesn't happen that'll be stupid.

There's already one Supergirl. There can't be two.

WB/DC has said previously that their TV and movie universes will remain separate.
That means the folks who play characters on the little screen won't be the same folks playing them on the big screen.

Doesn't change my mind about hating it and not rewarding it with my eyeballs.

No, I think it's a dumb decision too.
Makes their job easier, yes. However, it makes it harder for audiences.
Call me crazy, but I'd want my product to be as easy for consumers to consume as possible.
