This is one of those you see on the discount table at the book store for $4 so you grab it and put it in the "to-be-read pile."

I just wish I knew when I read it before, because I had. But I have no memory of it. But early on I was thinking... "Wait... this is going to happen and then they will do *this*." And then I was right.

This book was published in 2000, which I also didn't know... I may not have been as likely to read military fiction so badly out of date.

Anyway, plot summary: USS Seawolf XO fucks up and gets the crew in trouble near a hostile/friendly trading partner. And then what are ya gonna do???

I didn't even realize this was a pre-9/11 book until just now. The tone did seem a little off. They also take about 20 opportunities to thank Clinton for giving/allowing China to steal so many classified tech secrets. I think they may have metaphored Clinton gave the Chinese a wet sloppy beejer at some point.

Anyway, yeah. No one here will ever read it. Here's a plot summary on wikipedia that gives more away.

You can't use Wikipedia for your book report. What are kids today thinking?!!!

Ha. Sources.

I still can't remember when I read this book before. Had to have been a long time ago because I only remembered a few specific details instead of the broad strokes.
