Synopsis:
Every major black action star from the '70s is in this movie, bankrolled by Fred Williamson and some other dude he convinced to be co-producer.
Review:
Let's name off the OGs here:
Jim Brown
Fred "the Hammer" Williamson
Richard Roundtree
Pam Grier
Ron O'Neal
... I guess Paul Winfield gets an honourable mention for the Trekkies around here
Anyhow, all of them star in this flick which sees some old-skool OGs face off against the young thugs who've moved to town. They fuck up by killing Pam Grier and Jim Brown's kid. This is the "play it straight" version of I'm Gonna Git You Sucka, and the production values might actually be less. The violence, in spite of people getting shot, is very A-Team. Machines guns may as well be rapid fire sniper rifles, the heroes never run out of ammo, the antagonist has henchmen that can't shoot straight, etc.
Verdict:
I wanted to like this a lot more than I did. Other than the cast, this is a run-of-the-mill, low-budget action movie. Think Seagal's direct-to-vid work.
