Watched this on the flight home today. It's a very mixed bag.

I like most of the actors involved, but the writing is all over the place. Nothing is explained at any point. Well done in Mad Max Fury Road, but not well done here. Why is the entire opening sequence about showing me where the virus came from without actually showing me? What's with the weird romantic subplot that took up a lot of time, but eventually went nowhere? What's everyone's story and why do I care about them? What's with the Daneville jokes? Lots of little jokes about the current state of parenting without any real payoffs too.

Tongues were firmly in cheeks while making this movie, and that's fine, but when you do that give me smart jokes. The jokes here are pretty lame and hackneyed.

Oh, I should also note that this film is gross. It starts off with the processing of a chicken into a nugget, pink slime and all. The rest of the film is just scene after scene of kids killing adults and eating them or adult creatively killing kids.

I guess check it out sometime if it's free, but don't go out of your way.

Cooties

I forgot this flick existed until someone in the FB group, "Horror Everything" mentioned it, today.

So I rented it.

It was.... ok. I like Rainne Wilson, but this might be his most mediocre character, yet. There weren't any actual laughs, just several points where I calmly thought, "That was amusing."

And yes, pretty gross, and at times, uncomfortable. There's a pretty high child body count.
