Just when you think the human race has run its course and that all hope is lost, you find out that there is going to be a sequel to John Wick and suddenly the sun is shinning and there’s a sense that we’re gonna make it after all. John Wick 2, you guys! Not to over-sell it, but the first John Wick is literally one of the greatest films ever made and quite possibly one of the achievements that mankind will be judged on by some distant, future alien species.
Wasn't bad. It's an action flick, not Othello. Didn't piss on the original, but not quite up to the first one. I do like the whole mythos they've created around the hitmen. They touched on it some in the first with The Continental, but the expand on it some more with this. In some ways it reminds me of what they did around the vampires and werewolves in Underworld.
And apparently about 70% of New York city consists of hitmen.

Watched the first one with my kid the other day, he liked, so we're both looking forward to this one soon.

Yup.
So what does "Excommunicado in 1 Hour" mean? I get that he no longer has the courtesies afforded a member of their assassin brotherhood.... and I get that he now has a $14mil bounty on his head by "The Higher Table" or whatever that was called... but what's the deal with the "in 1 hour" thing?

He gets a 1 hour head start to leave town.

Also they did a neat job with the 10 minutes they spent in the reflecting room in the art museum. I kept looking for the reflection of a cameraman, never saw one.
In the first movie there was a cool scene at the beginning, he buries his wife, and he is surrounded by tombstones, and the city in the background looks like a bunch more tombstones and it is great foreshadowing of what is coming.
I didn't notice any scenes like that in this movie.
Oh here it is.

Why? The previous bounty went into effect immediately. Winston invoked a privilege to give him a head start, or something?
