I heard Jay Chandrasekhar on the Adam Carolla podcast a week or two ago.
He said he has a company willing to distribute the movie if they make it, but they wouldn't pay for it. They was looking at crowd funding to get money he couldn't raise himself.
He said that since it was a sequel it had to be a much bigger movie, with a much bigger budget.

They hit their crowdfunding goal of 2 million, and have 30 days left, now they are going for 3 million.
And they made a little in-character video of it.

It was... ok. Just barely good enough for me to not say "sucked." It had SOME of the charm of the first movie.... the problem is, the first one is full of funny, quotable shit. This second movie had nothing like that... they even recycled a bunch of jokes from the first movie, hoping we'd laugh in a "hey I remember that" sort of way. But it had very little of its own brilliant humor.
Broken Lizard has gotten old and uninspired.

I would say it's slightly above that.
Nowhere near the first one, but I laughed more than I thought I would. Perhaps because I went into it thinking it would suck, I enjoyed it? It wasn't great or even good, but I was entertained enough to not hate it.
