Plot Concept: The upcoming project's storyline revolves around Rambo fighting his way through human traffickers and drug lords to rescue a young girl abducted near the U.S.-Mexico border.
That doesn't sound terrible... sounds like a good Rambo movie.
Also want to say that I bought the BD and Rambo 4 is still quite good on subsequent viewings.
Before the Labor Day weekend took effect for people across the nation on Friday, AICN reported that they were contacted by writer-director Sylvester Stallone and that the original plot concept was wrong. It seems Stallone has owned the rights to James Byron Huggins' sci-fi novel, Hunter, and had plans to turn that into the fifth installment.

WTF?
Someone needs to tell Sly to make Rambo 5, and then, make a movie called Hunter. He could get both shot in a single year.
If Rambo 5 goes Sci-Fi it just shits all over the original Rambo and what it meant.

Rambo 5 had been shelved and probably for the better. Here's a description of the plot:
the original idea for the film, which was going to see Rambo hunting some sort of monstrous animal.
