HR Giger

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

Hate to see that. He was one of the few contemporary artists that was both talented and did interesting work.

This is how I came to know Giger's work

I mostly bought cassettes at that time, but I bought Frankenchrist on vinyl just to have the poster.

In court, the prosecutor, Michael Guarino, called the poster “pornography” and compared Giger to Richard Ramirez, the serial killer. “Giger sees people the way Ramirez sees people,” he said. “They are objects to hurt. They are not human.” The defense argued that “Landscape XX,” which had hung in Vienna’s Museum of Modern Art and the Bronx Museum, was ugliness as social commentary, not obscenity.
