I thought it was very entertaining and well done. Not the best comic book movie ever, but easily worth seeing in the theaters. I originally hated the casting of RDjr, but he made the movie.

I also think if anti-war people/hippies are looking at this movie to further their cause, then they need to see the film again. Sure, there's some of that touched on, but not in the way they might think. Can't really go into it further without spoilers, but I will say that they're going to hate Jim Rhodes...

I saw a reviewer saying today that the success of this movie is a result of Americans' weariness of the Iraq war

It's people like that who need a nice punch in the jaw. Self serving asshole thinks Iron Man did good because of anti-war sentiment? How about ACTUAL anti-Iraq war films that are flopping jackass? Maybe the fact that this was a comic book movie with a built in audience and a MASSIVE advertising campaign got people into theaters? No, I'm sure people around the world were thinking "I want to protest the Iraq War, let's go see Iron Man!"

Where did you read that review? I need someone to boycott.

The hands were repulsors for sure. I think the feet were some sort of rocket. Different design.
Jebus, I'm arguing fictional tech on a message board. I've really sunk low. Just don't tell my wife. She already thinks I'm a big enough nerd. :D

They didn't invent it, it's been powering my dating life for years.
