What is the SPF equivalent of having dark skin?
Not racist, but interesting.

Black "relatives?" Those people are whiter than Mitt Romney.

My family has at least a couple black relatives, and they mainly look like the above ... except the black ones.

I showed this to a friend and he asked me if I thought it was racist.
It took me a minute to figure out why the heck he would think it was racist.

True story: was grocery shopping last night. A black guy passes me and I check out his cart. Watermelon and chicken.
I wanted to take a pic but that would have been racist.

Depends on context. This is.
I used to work at a public pool. Back kids didn't seem any less likely to swim so I wasn't even aware of that stereotype.
At the pool there would be times when we had to clear everybody out of the water. Sometimes it was chlorine related, sometimes it was due to a "white shirt drill" (lifeguards were tested with a fake drowning and during the rescue the pool was evacuated), and sometimes there was lightning or other reason for cleaning people out of the water.
Those people look like they are standing around waiting for or listening to someone right of frame.

It's currently making the rounds up here with the phrase "Toledo pool parties be like...".
I can't believe you've never heard that stereotype though. Didn't we post a video in the YouTube thread about reforming old racists? In the video there's a scene where a black guy jumps into a pool and an old white women screams, "Dear God, someone save that poor man."

I didn't hear of it until later. I just assumed that everybody could swim. I guess you only went to the pool if you could swim, and I didn't have any black friends, and it's not as if my friends and I ever discussed the swimming habits of urban youth.
I think comedians would make jokes about it but I didn't take it seriously.
The only time I witnessed African Americans not being able to swim was while watching Survivor. It seemed like every season they'd have a black guy on that couldn't swim. I felt embarrassed and thought that the people casting the show should make an effort to cast black men who could swim because it was getting ridiculous.
One season they were picking teams and someone flat out asked a black guy if he could swim (because it crippled teams in previous seasons) and the guy answered that he could swim. He even described it as "dynamic." I remember thinking "Whew!"
It ends up the guy was lying and he couldn't swim and I felt guilty for watching the stereotype take place yet again.
Now, how about this for is It Racist?
