Fantastic Four - ... yeah, reboot

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

Is that really the plot?

Cuz if so, this is art imitating life. I'm 99% sure there was a hacker by that name in the late 80's when I was hacking with LOD/MOd.

Spoken like a gentleman sir.
(So there's no confusion, that's a Monty Python quote I'm using to signal the end of our debate. :D )

I honestly hope Michael B. Jordan saw that article and realized the world isn't as racist as he thought.

Is that really the plot?

Yeah, I think so.

I find this amusing. Since we all agree the current comic version of the F4 sucks, I fail to see why completely fucking with the formula is going to make it worse. Unless they try to play the script with far too much DC gravity. I'm looking at you shitty, Suicide Squad and Batman versus Superman movies. Calling those fuckers right now.

Survey says no, at least not a notable one. You ran with LOD?

Right, I don't think Dr. Doom was a member of LoD, I was just saying "back in the day"... He may have been a guy local to NC, not a major guy.

Yes, I worked with them in 88/89, so I knew: Lex, Leftist, Marauder, Dr. Who, and Phiber, maybe others whose names don't ring a bell any more. cDc as well (Sid Vicious, etc), but they were mostly about fun/pranks more than hacking.... and some very disturbing text porn.

This is what it looks like when the media gets paid off.

Love the not even remotely subtle placement of the trailer.

The guy contradicts himself constantly and attacks Marvel with the same tactics he accuses them of using against Fox.

So we're not supposed to believe unnamed sources when they're discussing the FF movie, but we can totally trust them on Marvel?

The commenters take him to task on basically everything, including the race issue. They're a fun read.

I noticed the tone of commercials went from "college-age whiz kids in failed experiment" to "military prisoners with special skills." Didn't bode well.

Director blames the studio.

I'm 100% certain the studio has no fucking idea what they're doing with the FF. That being said, Josh Trank's only other film was Chronicle, which was also a critical failure.

And yes, the studio is blaming him. Read the article where they don't just say he was bad at his job, but also that his behavior was "erratic".

End of the day, Fox needs to give up and just give the rights back to Marvel.

Trank was set to direct the second Star Wars stand-alone project. But Kinberg, who is producing that movie, is said to have communicated his displeasure with Trank to Kathleen Kennedy and the team at Lucasfilm. Trank subsequently left the Star Wars project earlier this year.

Nice career you might've had there.

10% on Rotten Tomatoes.

It only made $2.7 million Thursday, so they're dropping projections for the weekend to $40 million.

Nice career you might've had there.

Yeah, this film will haunt him. I think he needs to head back to TV or the indy scene and do smaller films.

They've already greenlit a sequel, so it should be interesting to see if they follow through with it or simply use the characters in other Marvel movies as they still own the X-Men.

This is their fourth(?) attempt at a good FF movie. They're 0 for 4.

Is Fox publicly traded? I could see investors squashing any additional films. They should try and sell Marvel/Disney the rights back.

Saw somewhere they are thinking about killing the F4 sequel and giving it to Deadpool

The last F4 sequel made Green Lantern look positively amazing.

That would be a wise move.
